  Ostfalen Technology Park, Magdeburg, Germany
Founded in 1991 with the support of the Ministery of Economy of the Federal State of Saxony-Anhalt a state of the art corporate centre at the crossroads of motorways at the northern city boundary of Magdeburg, the Federal State's capital, was developed. In its first construction phase, the park covers an area of about 275 hectares (670 acres). The following phases of construction allow to expand the area of the park to a maximum of 900 hectares (2230 acres).
Until the beginning of 2002 the investment made by the managing company of the Park to create an environment that favours innovation amounts to about 50.000.000 EURO. Total investment made in the Park in the same period amounts to a total of about 410.000.000 EURO.
A total of 1.900 people are working in the Park. Among the actual tenants the Park has an Innovation Center. In this Innovation Centre are working 500 people in about 120 small and medium size technology based companies.
The Ostfalen Technology Park is member of the International Association of Science Parks (IASP).

The IGZ Magdeburg at the Ostfalen Technology Park
The Innovation and Founder's Centre at Magdeburg (IGZ) offers newly established businessmen, highly qualified employees of scientific institutions and medium-sized companies as well as other persons interested in industry and commerce the opportunity to develop product ideas and services into a marketable commodity.
Creative surroundings, cost effective commercial rooms, state-of-the-art communications technology, facilities for common usage like meeting and conference rooms and the opportunity to utilize the comprehensive range of consulting services and amenities make it easier to establish a business and to commercialize new products and services.
The IGZ-buildings are based on a modular construction design offering individual space units of 12.5 m x 12.5 m in form of a modular surface grid. The prospective companies rent these and are free to adapt the room heights to their own requirements. Even two-storey rooms are possible.
Whether as office, laboratory, workshop, manufacturing shop, testing ground, training room or studio - IGZ offers good opportunities to innovative companies from almost all business sectors to expand their activities.
Industrial Property
The erection of the whole infrastructure of the Park is managed by the Ostfalen Technoloy Park team.
The industrial properties are handled and sold by the Ostfalen Technology Park team.
