 Thessaloniki Technology Park Management & Development Corporation S.A.
TTP /MDC S.A. was founded in 1994 with the participation of FORTH/CPERI and major industries of Central Macedonia. The company promotes and enhances the activities of the Thessaloniki Technology Park in close cooperation with the Association of Industries of Northern Greece, Universities and research centres.
TTP/MDC is a member of the International Association of Science Parks (IASP), and a partner of the Hellenic Innovation Relay Centre (H-IRC) belonging to the network of Innovation Relay Centres, run by the European Commission's Innovation Programme.
Activities - Services
1. Regional Development
TTP/MDC promotes activities which contribute to the increased competitiveness of the Greek industry with special emphasis on Chemical Technology, Material Technology, Food & Beverage, Textiles and Energy & Environment. This goal is pursued by participation in many European and national regional development programmes. Furthermore, TTP/MDC identifies present, future and latent industry needs within Northern Greece and links them with technological innovation. An information network has been established and is continuously expanding encompassing research institutes, industries and regional development initiatives.
2. Technology Transfer
The Technology Transfer Unit serves as Industry-Research Liaison, performs partner searches, executes assessment and exploitation of research results, assists with RTD proposal preparation, submission and project management. Furthermore, it ensures information dissemination concerning research results, technological developments and the emergence of new technologies.
Technology brokerage, technology search & assessment, technology transfer agreements, assistance for technology implementation, are also provided. Finally measurements and testing quality control through promotion of analytical services (of CPERI and other laboratories) are also undertaken.
3. Contract Research
The Park promotes closer links of industry to local Universities/research centres by raising funds for basic and applied research related to local industry needs through joint research projects both locally and internationally.
4. International Technology Transfer
TTP/MDC is promoting technology transfer between Greece, the EU, the USA, Eastern Europe and the Balkans.
5. Contract Education
TTP/MDC undertakes a leading role in contract education of industry personnel by serving as a link between Greek industry and internationally recognised experts in new fields of technology.
The TTP/MDC also organises, implements and participates in national and European training programmes. TTP/MDC studies issues pertaining to professional training and prepares training workshops on the use of technologies.
Services
1. Incubator Building:
The Incubator Building is open to companies, individuals, or legal entities interested in transforming innovative ideas into new technology, products or services leading to a successful business.
TTP/MDC supports the companies of the Incubator by providing services such as: secretarial support, telecommunications, photocopying, ISDN networking, Internet, e-mail and assistance for the participation in European and National programmes.
2. Conference Centre:
The Conference Centre of the Thessaloniki Technology Park provides ample facilities to the companies / organizations of the area for their professional activities. This modern Conference Centre offers one amphitheatre (150 seats) and two smaller meeting rooms, seating 25 and 35 respectively for: Conferences, Seminars, Meetings, Workshops
The Conference Centre provides the following services:
Organisation of Events, Videoconferencing, Interpreting Services, Secretarial Support, Catering, Travel Agency Services
To meet the demands of such events, the following equipment is available: ISDN, Audio-visual and multimedia, Computer for presentations, Photocopy machine
3. Library:
The library of CPERI was established in 1990 and in April 1995, it moved to the Technology Park of Thessaloniki ground floor of the administration building, where it is located today.
The CPERI Library provides information and services to the academic and business community of Thessaloniki and the surrounding area in support of teaching, research and other activities. The Library maintains a specialised engineering collection and accepts requests regarding access to information resources throughout the world for academic and research staff, TTP staff, University students and other patrons. The collection contains more than 1,000 books, periodicals, CD ROMs and reference material, and receives approximately 100 scientific journal, magazine and newsletter subscriptions mainly of Chemical Engineering and Business context.
